Where is the Green Sheep?

Crafts and activities to match the classic story.

Craft

Cut out the outline of a sheep and replace the inside with contact. Make sure the sticky side is facing out.

Use some cotton wool balls and make the sheep nice and wooly. You could also throw the cotton wool balls at the contact and see if they stick.

DIY farm- Colour some rice green, make edible mud and put some water in a small tray and create a small world play for farms animals. If you don't have plastic animals you could also use these animal print outs and glue them to paddle pop sticks or cardboard.

Sheep Shearing- glue cotton wool balls onto a sheep outline and then practise cutting them off.

Make your own green sheep- use the outline and dip cotton wool balls in paint to create a wooly effect.

Make some sheep cupcakes- use green food colouring on coconut to create the wool and choc chips for the eyes and nose.

Play

Make a green sheep and hide it in the house for some one to find- can you give them some hints to help them find the Green Sheep?

Collect as many things from around the house that are green. Try other colours as well. Or collect a bunch of items and try and sort them into colour groups.

Play Simon Says- instead of copying what the person is doing try and be the opposite. Eg; loud/ quiet

Make a maze and put the green sheep at the end. See if you can get to the sheep. You could use masking tape on the floor or chalk on the drive way to do this. For younger kids you could also draw different lines (wavy, zig zag ect)
